" A quarter of national swine flu deaths have happened in East Yorkshire, with ten people with the condition having died there.
Half were men and half women, the BBC reports, and nine out of ten had underlying health conditions. Only one did not have another condition, and died primarily from swine flu.
So far this winter 50 flu deaths have occurred; 45 were due to swine flu or H1N1. Since December 1st there have been 84 confirmed cases of swine flu in hospitals, while more than 200 people have been admitted to hospitals with suspected swine flu. The surge in cases has forced hospitals to cancel some major operations to make bed space."
