Article BDNews 24 :

" Diseases caused by measles infection have killed at least three children in Amtali area of Lama upazila last week.

Doctors on Saturday said over 100 Murang children of the upazila had been suffering due to the infection.

Bandarban civil surgeon Sakhawat Hossain told bdnews24.com that one child died in the hospital on Friday, while two others at their own residences on Tuesday.

He said they died due to diarrhoea and pneumonia, caused by measles infection.

Hossain said 17 children were still undergoing treatment at the health complex. Many are being treated locally by a medical team. One medical team has been deployed in each upazila.

Acting health and family planning officer of Lama Shafiur Rahman said measles was spreading in the area due to hot and humid weather and lack of safe drinking water."
