India : Mumbai doctor dies of dengue

Via Times of India, a fatality due to dengue :

" MUMBAI: A doctor died of dengue in Mumbai Monday taking the toll due to the deadly fever this season to four, an official said.

Doctor Rajan Palav, 32, was an ENT (ear, nose and throat) professor at the Grant Medical College, run by the JJ Group of Hospitals.

"He had been keeping unwell since Wednesday. His reports were positive for dengue and he was getting treated at Hinduja Hospital," said TP Lahane, dean of JJ Hospital.

"He avoided getting admitted to JJ Hospital as it was already overflowing with patients and wanted to avoid spreading infection," Lahne added.

Palav is the fourth case of dengue death in Mumbai this season. Nearly 150 patients have been detected with dengue so far, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official said."
