India : Malaria on the rise in western Raj

An article from Times of India, excerpt :

" JAIPUR: The western districts of Rajasthan continue to register high incidence of malaria as more than 4,000 cases of the disease were registered last week.

Jaisalmer alone accounted for nearly 25% of these cases, while Bikaner, Barmer, Udaipur and Jodhpur are the other districts to record high incidence of malaria.

Malaria has registered comparatively low incidence during the first half this year. However, after experiencing good rainfall the state is seeing more malaria cases. The small water bodies formed at various locations in the desert districts have increased the breeding ground for mosquitoes."
