" THE State Health Department will provide free H1N1 vaccines only to those aged between 18 and 65 years and considered at high risk.
The department clarified in a press statement yesterday that it would not inoculate those out of this age group as it had yet to determine the vaccine’s safety on them.
Those considered at high risk included patients with chronic illnesses like hypertension, diabetes and asthma, those suffering from kidney problems and undergoing dialysis, and those with heart problems.
Women whose pregnancy is more than 18 weeks, those with body-mass index of over 35kg and classified under morbid obesity, and medical and dental practitioners in private practice are included in this group.
The department will consider others on a case-by-case basis."
