Former Italian Consulate Dies in Honduras

Via Honduras News :

" A former Consulate of Italy in Honduras, Francesco Campos, died yesterday of hemorrhagic dengue. Campos died in a private hospital in Tegucigalpa, a week after being interned.

Mr. Campos left his duties as consul in 2002, and retired three years later. He was in Guatemala and then returned to Honduras where he was living with a Honduran woman. Authorities are awaiting contact from the Campos family. They do not know if he will be buried in Honduras, or his remains taken to Italy.

19 deaths in Honduras have been attributed to dengue hemorrhagic fever. Cities with a higher incidence of cases are the Central District and San Pedro Sula. Officials from the Ministry of Health reported that dengue cases nationwide have increased over 300 percent this year."
