India : 13-year-old boy city’s first dengue victim this year

" A 13-year-old boy became the first victim of dengue this year. Mayur Agarwal, a resident of Barne chowk at Mangalwar Peth, died on Tuesday due to dengue fever. Dr V L Yemul, Medical Director of KEM Hospital where Mayur was admitted, confirmed his death due to dengue.
National Institute of Virology (NIV) officials confirmed the death was due to dengue and according to doctors at the hospital it is the first death due to dengue in Pune this year.

When contacted, Dr R R Pardeshi, Chief Medical Officer at Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), said they were getting details of the case and that sporadic cases of dengue were being reported from Bhosari and other areas. "
