Malaysia : Malacca to attack Aedes hotspots

An article from The Star :

" MALACCA: Several breeding grounds of the Aedes moquito have surfaced following the recent wet spell, prompting health authorities here to go on the offensive to curb the dreaded dengue disease.

The authorities claimed to have identified 10 Aedes hotspots in the city, with over 20 suspected cases detected at the Portuguese settlment in Ujong Pasir over the past two weeks.

Banda Hilir constituency development committee deputy chairman Ronald Gan said the health authorities were monitoring the situation closely and had implemented several measures to prevent the occurrence of more cases.

“So far, we have six confirmed dengue cases,” he told reporters during a visit to the village.

He added that 22 suspected patients from the village had been admitted to the Malacca Hospital."
