" KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 : Three deaths, two in Selangor and another in Sarawak, due to dengue were reported in the week between June 27 and July 3, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said.He said a total of 1,051 cases of dengue fever were reported nationwide during the period, an increase of 113 cases or 12 per cent from the previous week.
Nine states recorded an increase in cases - Johor (65), Selangor (49), Penang (17), Sarawak (10), Kedah (4), Perlis (3), Kelantan (3), Federal Territory (3) and Negeri Sembilan (1), he said in a statement Thursday.He said that until July 3, a total of 24,240 dengue cases, with 81 deaths, had been reported nationwide, compared with 25,234 cases and 62 deaths during the corresponding period last year."
