" An epidemic of swine flu (H1N1 Type-A) Influenza gripped Karachi as 10 more people, including 6 females and 4 males, were confirmed to have been infected with the deadly virus in Karachi on Wednesday Officials of the Sindh Swine Flu Surveillance Cell, Dr. Suresh Kumar and Dr. Shakeel Mullick told The News that all these cases were confirmed in Karachi alone.
The patients were admitted to the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) with symptoms of influenza, but were confirmed as swine flu patients after swab samples were sent to the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Islamabad for tests."
