" The first dengue patient of 2011 has been admitted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the Health Department confirmed here on Monday.The Incharge, Dengue Surveillance Cell, Dr Suresh Kumar, said a young man was brought to the hospital with dengue symptoms and he tested positive on Sunday.
He said that in the current year two patients with dengue symptoms were rushed to hospital this year and one of them tested positive for dengue. He added that this year no dengue death had been reported so far.
Meanwhile, Sindh Minister for Health Dr Sagheer Ahmed asked the EDOs (Health) and medical superintendents of all public sector teaching hospitals to maintain adequate stock of Tami Flu tablets. He said those tablets must be provided to the patients, confirmed or suspected to be infected with the H1NI virus ,which causes swine flu."
