" SEOUL, April 17 : An additional outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) has been found in a southeast province in South Korea, the country's Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said on Sunday.
The ministry said the cases of the highly contagious disease was reported in a pig farm in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province on Saturday. The infected pigs later tested positive for the disease.
To prevent further spread of the contagion, the quarantine authorities ordered to cull the six infected pigs and take control measures to human and vehicles access to the farm. They also asked for all livestock farms in the country to take preventive measures."
