" The spokesperson of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) made the following announcement today (September 8):
Four patients (aged 29 to 46) and three staff members in a female mentally handicapped ward of TMH had presented with upper respiratory symptoms since August 28. Appropriate viral tests were arranged for the patients and their test results were positive for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The patients concerned are being treated under isolation. Two patients are in serious condition and the other two are in stable condition. Two of the concerned staff members have resumed duty while the other one is on sick leave now.
Admission to and discharge from the ward have been suspended. Restricted visiting to the ward has been imposed. Infection control measures have already been stepped up according to established guidelines. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close surveillance."
