Malaysia - MOH - Current Situation of Influenza A (H1N1) - 15 April 2010

The latest H1N1 update from Malaysia's Ministry Of Health, as you can see the ILI cluster cases are increasing and the number of H1N1 positive cases are also rising. This is a worrisome increase.

" Up until 8.00 am on 15 April 2010, the Ministry received a total of seven (11) reports of ILI cluster cases in the following five (5) states:

  1. Residential house in Batu 2 ¾, Kg. Ladang, Semabok Melaka (14/04/2010), involving 2 people, both samples H1N1 positive.
  2. National Training Camp in Putra Putri Taboh Naning, Alor Gajah Melaka (14/04/2010) involving 15 people, all samples not known.
  3. Residential house in Bandar Puteri, Klang, Selangor (14/04/2010) involving 2 people, both samples H1N1 positive.
  4. Residential house in Taman Alam, Nyata Kebun, Section 36 Shah Alam, Selangor (14/04/2010) involving 2 people, both samples H1N1 positive.
  5. Residential house in Jalan Rantau Panjang, Klang, Selangor (14/04/2010) involving 3 people, all 3 samples H1N1 positive.
  6. Residential house in Taman Andalas Jaya, Klang, Selangor (14/04/2010) involving 2 people, both samples H1N1 positive.
  7. Kuala Kubu Baru Secondary School, Selangor (14/04/2010) involving 3 people, all 3 samples H1N1 positive.
  8. Chong Hwa Chinese School, Batu Pahat, Johor (14/04/2010) involving 5 people, all samples not known.
  9. Vocational School, Batu Pahat, Johor (14/04/2010) involving 3 people, all samples not known.
  10. SBP Integration Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Pahang (14/04/2010) involving 24 people, all samples not known.
  11. White Resort National Training Camp, Balik Pulau, Pulau Pinang (14/04/2010) involving 11 people, 1 sample H1N1 positive.

Meanwhile, until 5:30 pm on 14 April 2010, the total cumulative cases of ILI that are still being treated at the wards in the country are 528 cases. Of these, 68 cases (12.9%) were confirmed positive influenza A (H1N1), while eight (8) cases treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Total cumulative cases of influenza A (H1N1) are 12, 971 cases. No reports of death received yesterday."
