Via Deccan Chronicle, more fatalies coming out of India due to H1N1 :
" A private company employee, just returned from Gujarat, suspected to be infected with A(H1N1) virus, died at the quarantine cell of Tirunelveli medical college hospital on Monday.
Ramanathan (34) of Vallivilai, near Tiruchendur, in Thoothukudi district, was working in a private company in Gujarat.
As he was continuously ill for about a week in Gujarat, Ramanathan returned to his native place and took treatment at the Tirunelveli medical college hospital where they suspected he had swine flu infection and admitted him to the quarantine ward three days ago. His blood sample was sent for confirmation to King’s institute in Chennai.
On Monday morning, his condition became critical and, subsequently, he died. However, the hospital and health department officials denied that Ramanathan died of swine flu but due to bronchial infection, for which he was taking treatment.
But they have no answer for the question why he was admitted to the quarantine ward. The Tirunelveli district deputy director of public health and preventive medicine, Mr Meeran Moideen, told mediapersons that until they receive the blood test result from Chennai they cannot confirm the reason for the death.
Meanwhile, swine flu scare has gripped Ilayangudi in Sivagangai district after a 27-year-old woman succumbed to the H1N1 influenza at a private hospital in Madurai on Sunday. Burkha Nisha who delivered a premature baby that died on birth at a private clinic in Paramakudi was admitted to a multi-speciality hospital in Madurai on July 2 after she was suspected to have contracted the virus."
