Tibet - Bird flu confirmed

Via Meat Trade News Daily :

" The veterinary authority has sent Immediate Notification dated 2 July to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes the finding of 170 wild bird dead in Shuanghu district, Naqu in Tibet on 9 May.

The birds were: 141 brown-headed gulls (Larus brunnicephalus), 27 bar-headed geese (Anser indicus), one red-billed chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) and one Eurasian wigeon (Anas penelope).

The presence of the H5N1 sub-type of the HPAI virus has been confirmed, and the report describes the event as 'resolved'.
