" KAGOSHIMA : Two additional hooded cranes wintering in the Izumi plain in Kagoshima Prefecture have tested positive for avian influenza in a preliminary test, the Izumi Municipal Government said.
Five hooded cranes, which are considered a vulnerable species, have so far been confirmed as infected with a highly infectious strain of bird flu.
The city said Tuesday it has not seen evidence of massive deaths of wild birds."
