" Regarding the announcement earlier on a female long-stay ward in which some patients had been confirmed with Human Metapneumovirus, the spokesperson for Castle Peak Hospital made the following update today (August 17):
One more 62-year-old female patient in the ward presented with respiratory symptoms. Appropriate viral tests were arranged for the patient and the test result was positive for Human Metapneumovirus. The patient concerned is being treated under isolation and is in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended and restricted visiting to the ward has been imposed. Infection control measures have already been stepped up according to established guidelines. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close surveillance."
