Trinidad & Tobago : 3 brothers contract dengue

Via News Day :

" THREE young siblings have been admitted to the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) after showing symptoms of dengue fever.

On Sunday the three siblings five-month-old Donte Vialva, 17-month-old Eli and two-year-old Jayden, were warded at the hospital.

According to reports Jayden first began to vomit last Thursday at the family’s home at Warden Road in Point Fortin. His condition worsened and his brothers began experiencing similar symptoms accompanied by fever.

The children’s parents Arafah Jones, 22, and Cheena Vialva, 27, took them to SFGH where blood tests were conducted. The results confirmed that the children had contracted dengue and up to last night they were in the hospital.

Residents of Wickham Street in Point Fortin have expressed similar concerns about contracting the disease as an unoccupied parcel of land had become a breeding ground for mosquitoes."
