Malaysia - Rising number of Influenza-like cases prompts new measure

Via News Straits Times:

" The Health Ministry has directed all schools and institutions to set up isolation rooms for those with influenza like illness (ILI) following the rise in the number of ILI cluster cases involving schoolchildren.

The ministry detected seven new ILI cases here and in Johor, Pahang and Negri Sembilan.

Most of these cases involved schoolchildren.

Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican said hostel wardens should isolate their students when they showed symptoms of the disease.

“They must be isolated until they fully recover,” he said at the daily H1N1 press conference here yesterday.
