" KUALA LUMPUR: Two police trainees have been warded at the intensive care unit of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital after they were suspected to have been infected with adenovirus, which causes illness of the respiratory system and other ailments.
A trainee inspector was warded on Saturday and a trainee constable on March 6, said police training centre (Pulapol) commandant Senior Asst Comm Zulkifli Mohamed.
The two were among 29 people from the centre being treated at the hospital for the infection, he said yesterday.
SAC Zulkifli said 714 people have been quarantined: 252 trainee men inspectors, 245 trainee women inspectors, 209 trainee constables and eight Pulapol staff."
