" NEW DELHI: Seven new cases of dengue were reported in the city on Thursday, taking the total number of cases of the disease to 73 this season. According to MCD officials, maximum number of cases are being reported from Civil Lines and Karol Bagh zones.
"On Thursday, we have received the highest number of dengue cases reported in a single day this season. Dengue cases are reported from Civil Lines, Rohini, Karol Bagh, Gole Market zones among others," said Dr V K Monga, chairman of MCD health committee.
Monga, however, said that the number of dengue cases was less compared to last year. "Last year, 1014 cases and three deaths were reported till September 1," said Monga.
Meanwhile, the health committee held a meeting at MCD headquarters on Thursday to discuss strategies to tackle the disease. Among other measures to control dengue, the panel has also decided to appoint two health inspectors in each zone."
