Hong Kong : Public hospitals announce the latest Human Swine Influenza cases

Press release from Hong Kong's Centre for Health Protection :

" In response to the influenza situation in Hong Kong, the Hospital Authority (HA), in close collaboration with the Centre for Health Protection, has activated the enhanced monitoring system for severe influenza patients staying in the intensive care units (ICU) of public hospitals. The HA spokesman today (March 14) announced that a 53-year-old male patient with chronic illness at Prince of Wales Hospital has been confirmed with Human Swine Influenza. He was prescribed with tamiflu and was admitted to ICU yesterday. The patient is in a stable condition and was tansferred back to the general ward today. The hospital will continue to closely monitor his condition.

As at 2pm today, a total of seven influenza patients were staying in the intensive care units of public hospitals."
