" Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan is urging citizens to take precautions against becoming infected with the dengue fever during this rainy period.
A number of persons at Montague Avenue, Trincity, tested positive for the disease in recent days, Khan disclosed at a press conference yesterday in his Park Street, Port-of-Spain, office. He did not provide statistics of the number of persons infected.
Urging people to keep their surroundings clean to control the breeding of the mosquito transmitting the dengue virus, Khan said the disease has to be nipped in the bud. Once the dengue fever starts in one part of the country, he said it tends to spread."
