" PUTRAJAYA, May 19 : A total of 766 dengue cases with two deaths were reported for a period of seven days from May 9, an increase of six cases or one per cent compared with the 760 cases reported in the previous week.
Six states showed a rise in the number of cases reported, namely Selangor (36 cases), Negeri Sembilan (nine cases), Melaka (five), Terengganu (four), Pahang (two) and Penang (one).
"The number of accumulated cases reported for this year was 17,981 cases compared with 20,187 cases for the corresponding period of 2009," said the director-general of health, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican, in a statement Wednesday."
