Malaysia : One ILI cluster case reported in Perak

" PUTRAJAYA : One influenza-like-illness (ILI) cluster case was reported in Perak as of 8am today, Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said.


He said the ILI cluster case was reported at Tadika Usaha Junior kindergarten in Kuala Kurau.

"There were 26 confirmed Influenza A(H1N1) cases until 5.30pm yesterday, making a total of 14,411 cases. ILI cases being treated in wards totalled 629 nationwide," he said in a statement today.

Dr Ismail said of the total, 67 cases (10.7%) were confirmed positive H1N1 and that eight of 11 treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) had risk factors.

He said the virus could spread fast in crowded places and urged those infected or had ILI to avoid public places."
