" KARACHI: Malaria and dengue have emerged as the most widespread diseases in the province especially in the city.There are 3,468 malaria patients of which at least 30 have been declared critical, while a dengue outbreak has also afflicted a large number of people in the province.
However, City District Government Karachi Health Group of Offices Executive District Officer (EDO) Dr Nasir Javed while talking to Daily Times, said a total of 3,557 cases have been reported so far while at least 19 malaria cases were treated during the last 24 hours.
Sindh Secretary Public Health Captain (retd) Abdul Majid said 324 dengue cases were registered in Sindh of which only one case was reported in Sukkur.He said that the Sindh Health Department (SHD) in April had issued necessary guidelines to the CDGK EDO for carrying out fumigation."
