India : 72 fresh dengue cases reported in Delhi

Via Hindustan Times :

" With 72 more patients testing positive on Sunday and the total number of affected people touching 2,296, the dengue threat is only growing in the national Capital. Of the 72 new case 23 were from outside the city. So far this year 5 people have died of dengue. During the same period last year only 21 cases of dengue were reported from the city, with no death. Maximum numbers of cases were reported from south Delhi area with 354 cases out of the total 2,296 cases coming from there.

The other Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) zones such as Civil Lines, Central Delhi (283) and Rohini have so far reported 323, 283 and 268 cases, respectively.

The civic agency is attributing the cause of the rising numbers to prolonged monsoon and large-scale construction taking place across the city this year."
