" Death toll due to dengue in the city went up to four with one more person succumbing on Monday. The Delhi government, meanwhile, assured that there was no shortage of platelets in the city’s hospitals to treat dengue patients.
The total number of dengue cases on Monday went up to 1,370 with 75 new cases being detected. Two cases of swine flu deaths were also reported taking the overall death toll due to the disease this season to 36.
According to municipal health officials, a man, identified as Rakesh, succumbed to the disease on Sunday at the Safdarjung Hospital. The tests confirmed that he had died due to dengue.
The previous three victims of dengue, one of which was a case reported from outside the state, have been children.
Meanwhile, 59 new dengue cases were reported from MCD areas on Monday, the NDMC areas accounted for another 15 cases. One case was reported from Airport."
