Malaysia - MOH - Current Situation of Influenza A (H1N1) - 14 April 2010

The latest H1N1 update from the MOH Malaysia as of 14 April 2010, with my translation:

" Up until 8.00 am on 14 April 2010, the Ministry received a total of seven (7) reports of ILI cluster cases from the five (5) states as follows:

1. Johor (3)
  • SK Parit Maimon, Batu Pahat involving 4 people who was treated as an outpatient.
  • MRSM Parit Sulong involving 4 students who was treated as an outpatient.
  • SM Teknik Batu Pahat involving 1 student with ILI symptom who was treated as an outpatient. (At the same time there are 7 students with URTI symptoms).

2. Pahang (1)

  • PLKN Pinggiran Pelangi Muadzam Shah, Rompin involving 39 trainees, all of whom were given outpatient treatment and were isolated in a different dorm.

3. Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (1)

  • SK Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur involving 10 students and 6 was found to be A (H1N1) positive. Only one was admitted to the hospital while the rest was given outpatient treatment. All of the cases are stable.

4. Melaka (1)

  • SBP Integrasi Selandar, Jasin involving 4 students who was given outpatient treatment.

5. Negeri Sembilan (1)

  • Kolej Tunku Kurshiah, Seremban involving 13 students, all of whom received outpatient treatment and isolated in the sickbay.

Except for the cluster cases in Kuala Lumpur, the laboratory results for the rest of the cluster cases have not been received.

Meanwhile, until 5:30p.m. on 13 April 2010, the total ILI cases that are still being treated at the wards in the country are 529 cases. Of these, 58 cases (11.0%) were confirmed positive influenza A (H1N1), while six (6) cases are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)."
