Via Bernama:

" Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Dato' Ismail in Pasir Puteh near here has been ordered to close from Tuesday until Saturday after one of its students was confirmed to have contracted the influenza A (H1N1).

Kelantan Education Department director Hussain Awang said 42 other students of the school had also been quarantined since yesterday after showing symptoms of H1N1 infection.

"So far, only one student of the school was confirmed to have been infected by the H1N1 virus after undergoing health screening conducted by the Kelantan Health Department," he told reporters.

He said the state health authority had ordered the school to be closed to prevent the spread of the virus among other students. He also called on parents to be more sensitive to their children's health to prevent a second wave of H1N1 in Kelantan.

"If the children show symptoms of fever, the parents are advised to take them to the nearest hospital for immediate treatment.

"Students who are ordered to undergo home quarantine are also reminded not to be in public places and to adhere to the instruction to stay home," he added."
