Via The Hindu:
"After a scare that lasted several months, the A(H1N1) virus is back in the news. Some 1.5 lakh government health workers, including 60,000 doctors, will be vaccinated against the virus over a period of three days starting Thursday.
The fear over A(H1N1), popularly called swine flu, in recent weeks has died down following the reported admission by world health officials that its threat potential was exaggerated.
When asked why the vaccination now, Health Secretary E.V. Ramana Reddy and Commissioner D.N. Nayak said it was a precautionary measure, and targeted only at health workers and doctors. Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of an event to mark World Health Day, Mr. Nayak said health workers and doctors had been identified as the primary risk group."
