Malaysia : Current Situation of Influenza A (H1N1) 12 April 2010

The latest from MOH Malaysia, as you can see and compare from the previous updates from the MOH the numbers keep on rising and the hospitalizations are also rising.

" Until 8.00 am on 12 April 2010, the Ministry received a total report of four (4) ILI cluster cases from three (3) states as follows:

1. Johor (2)
  • A residential house in Taman Johor, Johor Bharu, involving 3 family members all of whom are hospitalized.
  • A residential home in Gelang Patah, Johor Bharu, involving 3 siblings all of whom are hospitalized.

2. Pahang (1)

  • Penor Prison, Kuantan involving 21 people (20 inmates, 1 staff). All inmates have been treated and placed in isolation rooms and are monitored by a prison medical team and separated from other prisoners. The prison staff was given an outpatient treatment.

3. Malacca (1)

  • A residential home in Taman Bemban Utama, Jasin, involving 2 siblings, both were treated at the hospital, whereby 1 was H1N1 positive and was discharged.

Results of laboratory tests for the cluster cases in Johor and Pahang has not been received.

Until 8.30 pm, 11 April 2010, the total cumulative ILI cases that are still being treated in the wards throughout the country are 677 cases. Of these, 58 cases (8.6%) were confirmed H1N1 positive, while four (4) cases are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). No reports of death received yesterday.
