Via The Star:
" Malaysians can take heart that the country is not facing a second wave of influenza A(H1N1) outbreak as feared.
World Health Organisation (WHO) consultant Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Lam Sai Kit said there were currently not enough cases of infections to justify such a declaration.
“I think it is best to stay calm and not cause panic by declaring a second wave until there is a significant increase, especially when more severe cases and deaths are reported.
“The most important thing to do is to remind the public that the disease is still with us and we have to remain vigilant,” he said in a reply via e-mail to The Star here yesterday.
The eminent virologist, whose research led to the discovery of the Nipah virus, said WHO had warned countries to be on alert for a second wave of the H1N1 outbreak."
