Pandemic H1N1 Situation in Malaysia until 08th April 2010

The latest from the MOH Malaysia - H1N1 update, excerpt with my translation:

" Up until 8:00 am, 8 April 2010, the Ministry of Health has received a total of six (6) reports of ILI cluster cases in four (4) states as follows:

1. Melaka (2)
  • Kolej Yayasan Saad, Ayer Keroh Melaka involving 16 students and college staff and all received outpatient treatment.
  • PLKN Lagenda, Asahan, Jasin, Melaka involving 11 trainers and all received outpatient treatment.

2. Perlis (1)

  • PLKN Tassoh, Perlis involving 6 trainers and all received outpatient treatment.

3. Terengganu (1)

  • Sekolah Pondok Darul Iman, Kuala Berang involving 15 students, all received outpatient treatments. However after further investigation, it was found that all the students have no ILI symptoms.

4. Kedah (2)

  • SMK Kelibang, Langkawi involving 35 ostudents and all received outpatient treatment.
  • SMK Kedawang, Langkawi involving 84 students and all received outpatient treatment.

However, after further investigation of both incidents of ILI clusters at Langkawi, it was found that they were not experiencing symptoms of ILI.Laboratory test results for all ILI clusters have not been received.

Meanwhile, the total amount of ILI cases that are still being treated in hospitals are 554 cases across the country.

Of these, 55 cases (9.9%) are confirmed positive influenza A (H1N1), while five (5) cases (0.9%) are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). No reports of death were received yesterday.

Based on incident reports received cluster, showing the influenza A (H1N1) is still active."
